'What representations of gender are constructed by the extract through the use of; Mise en scene/editing/use of camera/sound?'
At the beginning of the clip we see a young man and from this point we know that it is going to be about him as we hear a narrator as a voice over talking about this 'young man' and how he can form his destiny. As he is a male we can see that this programme is going to focus mainly on men as it is about men. About 30 seconds into the clip we see a king on his throne and he says 'my kingdom' which shows that he is in power and men are rulers over women and the fact that he is king he is ruler of everyone. About 50 seconds into the clip we see an old woman turn into snakes which shows she is a witch and in those days women were very often the only ones to be accused of being a witch showing that they are less superior to men as little men would have been accused of sorcery. Towards the end of the clip when the title 'Merlin' comes up we hear a woman whisper 'Merlin' which makes it seem very mysterious and that maybe in the programme Merlin has to be mysterious and keep his magic a secret as we know if e king found out he would be killed and this is backed up afterwards by him saying 'shhh, keep the magic secret'.

Hot Fuzz, Whats British
http://www.tubechop.com/watch/97954
it wouldnt let me insert this video so i have had to just put a link to it.
in the opening scene of Hot Fuzz there is alot f things shown to show that it is British. The first of these are that we hear police sirens of the British police from about 20-30+ years ago and then British police sirens from our time now and this could show that the police force is changing, and this is happening whilst the titles are being shown. we are then taken to a corridor and see a silouette of a man walking towards the camera and as we see him we see that he is wearing a British police uniform and this shows that the films is going to be about the police. he then holds up a badge of the british police force and on the badge is a crown to represent the Queen which sows more Britishness. also the name nicholas is a well known british name.

Post production of magazine
For the Front cover of my magazine I inserted a photo of Harry Tibbles in which I cut around his body to delete out the background. After this I used the colour selector tool and chose the golden colour on his t shirt and en used this for the beckground of the magazine and edited it to have a fading effect where it faded out into a lighter colour coming from a diagonal angle. I then inserted a mast head reading 'Inspire' which is the name of the magazine and used the font verdana for this and then had it a large size and used a mix of black and gold and the colour to go with the background. I then inserted 4 different text boxes around the picture of Harry where I then typed in the four different articles which are on the front cover, where I then coloured them a dark red and black for so that the colours matched with the mast head and background. I then added the price of the magazine and a piece of text saying 'brand new issue' and this was a small verdant font and dark red colour and placed under the mast head. I then added a picture of a barcode which. Placed in the bottom right hand corner of the page where a barcode would normal go.
After this I moved onto the contents page where I used a similar mast head for the title which read 'contents' and had the same colours and size as the front pages mast head. I then inserted a text box and filled in the contents of the magazine and what page numbers they would be on and the font for this was the same as the articles on the front page which is again verdana and coloured this with a dark red. For the background I did a similar thing with the front page where I had the same colour but a different gradient and angle so that it wasn't exactly the same as the front page but similar to go with it. I then added two separate pictures of Jacob Kench and Oli Wrights heads and cut around them like I did with the picture of Harry and placed them both side by side at the bottom of the page. Above this was a picture of the new canteen which I inserted and this was on the right side of the page next to the text box of the contents which was on the left side of the page. I then added a small number 3 in the bottom right hand corner to show it was page 3 of the magazine and this was a white verdant font.
