Production

During the production, we were given another groups storyboard, which we had to create a film for, to show that we could understand a different storyboard than our own and use the detail on it well, to make a good film of different shots. On the first piece of paper used as the storyboard we could not understand where the 'phone' was to be in the scene because in the description of the frame it only mentions a phone but does not show what was needed to be done with it so we used our initiative and left out the phone but still had the shots the way they were written. We managed to have the characters do everything correctly and there was no difficulty in this part. We did however film one shot twice as laughter took over, but this was okay as we managed to do it in 2 take and we did not waste any time. For most of the shots we had the camera on the tripod at eye level for the mid shots of the character 'Oli' walking though the corridor, we then had a close up of the door being opened showing the arm and hand of Oli on the door. There was then a reverse shot if the character coming through the door from the other side. We then had a mid shot of the other character 'Harry' sitting down being approached by Oli. When both characters were sitting down the camera was moved to an over the shoulder shot and the tripod was shortened to stand on the bench next to Oli so that we could see Harry over his shoulder as Harry read out his dialogue, this then changed to an over the shoulder shot of Harry looking at Oli as he read his dialogue. The camera was not hard to use and we were able to get on well with each other while filming and directing, we were able to get around the details in the storyboard which were hard to understand and made a few things better.
